The Red Bull chief was cleared of inappropriate behaviour last year

Christian Horner's accuser remains 'employed but suspended' by Red Bull after previously accusing the 51-year-old of 'inappropriate behaviour'.

The F1 world was left stunned in 2024 when the bombshell claims were made, alleging that the Briton had been 'coercive and abusive'.

Horner always denied them. He was first cleared by an independent KC, before an appeal was later dismissed.

He also always had the support of his wife, Geri Halliwell, who decided to attend last year's Bahrain Grand Prix despite the scrutiny her other half was facing.

Now, as the 2025 Bahrain GP creeps closer, there's been an update on the female employee who made the claims against Horner.

The Daily Mail says she is 'employed but suspended' by Red Bull and talk of her going to an employment tribunal has gone cold.

It is claimed, however, that she has been negotiating a severance payment that 'may run into a seven-figure sum'.

No agreement has yet been reached.

Red Bull weren't their usual selves last season but Max Verstappen was still able to win the F1 title for the fourth year on the trot.

They have, however, shown signs of struggling ever since the drama first exploded - with the 27-year-old continuing to be linked with a move away.

Verstappen's father, Jos Verstappen, wanted Horner gone 12 months ago.

He went public with that stance but didn't get his way, with Horner continuing to oversee matters at the Formula One giants.

Verstappen struggled during the first two races of the season, in Australia and China.

The Dutchman did, however, bounce back by securing glory in Japan last time out.

It isn't guaranteed that he will hang around, however. Aston Martin were linked recently but downplayed their interest, while Mercedes continue to circle.

The report describes the Silver Arrows as 'keen pursuers', though Toto Wolff have insisted they're happy having George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli as their two drivers.

LATEST SPORTS NEWS:

Meanwhile, Martin Brundle recently said it was 'ominous' that all four Red Bull family cars needed power unit component changes.

These alterations have left them on the brink of grid penalties ahead of the Bahrain GP.

But Horner, when asked if it was a worry for him, has firmly insisted that isn't the case.

"Not really," he stated.

"It depends on how you want to cycle them because they go in and out [of the cars].

"It's not like the first one is now put on the shelf, so that will be reintroduced. It's how they circulate them at the different events.

"So no alarm bells are ringing at the moment in terms of we're going to run short of those units later in the year."
