Lewis Hamilton is set to make the move to Ferrari

Charles Leclerc has dismissed suggestions that his partnership with Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari will be different from his previous team relationships, despite their 13-year age gap.

The Monegasque driver revealed he already shares a strong bond with the seven-time world champion ahead of their collaboration for the 2025 season.

Speaking to media, Leclerc emphasised that he and Hamilton share numerous interests outside racing, laying the foundation for what he expects to be a positive working relationship.

"No, I don't think so," Leclerc said when asked if he anticipates a different dynamic with Hamilton. "We have a very good relationship too."

The Ferrari driver expressed his deep admiration for his future teammate's achievements.

"I have obviously so much respect for Lewis and what he has achieved," Leclerc explained.

"We don't have quite the same age, but we still share a lot of interest outside racing. So, no, I'm sure it won't be any different."

The age difference between the two drivers is significant, with Hamilton having celebrated his 40th birthday this week, while Leclerc is 27.

The partnership marks a notable generational divide in Ferrari's driver lineup for 2025.

However, Leclerc's confidence in their future relationship appears unshaken, as both drivers aim to secure Ferrari's first championship since 2008.

The move has been described as one of Formula 1's most anticipated driver transfers, bringing together the sport's most decorated driver with its most iconic team.

Leclerc's optimism stems from his successful four-year partnership with outgoing teammate Carlos Sainz.

"He's helped me to improve in so many areas – his work ethic, his talent, just everything he brings," Leclerc said of Sainz.

The pair enjoyed a close relationship both on and off track during their time together at Ferrari.

"I wouldn't be the driver I am today without him as my team mate in the last four years," Leclerc reflected, adding that he will look back at their partnership "in the most positive way."
