England make Euro 2024 decision after scandalous behaviour from WAGS

England will head to Germany next summer hoping to erase the demons of what happened on their last tournament in the country.

Back in 2006, the Three Lions went into the World Cup hoping to reign supreme after a strong qualifying campaign under manager Sven-Goran Eriksson.

England had a strong team, too, boasting A-listers such as Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand and countless others as they looked to go all the way.

However, the WAGS who made the trip to support their loved ones ended up making the headlines - for all the wrong reasons.

The usually quiet town of Baden-Baden was thrown into the spotlight while the likes of Victoria Beckham, Coleen Rooney and Cheryl Tweedy stayed there.

There were stories of WAGS dancing drunk on tables while they stayed in Germany, while also racking up huge hotel bills as well.

Alex Curran, the future wife of Steven Gerrard, apparently spent £25,000 in a hotel bill with 60 bottles of champagne on her tab.

Model Abbey Clancy had just started dating striker Peter Crouch.

But she was sent home after pictures emerged of Clancy taking drugs two years previously.

Frank Lampard's former girlfriend, Elen Rivas, was also the subject of newspaper headlines.

It was claimed Rivas had lost her temper with airport staff while trying to take six items of carry-on luggage on the flight out to Germany.

WAGS were often spotted out on the town shopping, treating themselves to luxury items while their partners prepared for football.

A photographer named Andrew Stenning previously told Four Four Two of the WAGS' daily routine: “Morning coffee or maybe a run in town, shopping, back to the hotel, then on the p**s.

“It was full-on. They got no rest, so neither did we.

"Our rest days were when we got sent to cover the England matches.”

One journalist went undercover to get close to the WAGES.

When she was rumbled, however, she was advised that some of the other girls 'would rip your hair extensions out' if they knew the truth.

Daily Mirror journalist Andy Lines also told FFT that he was confronted by one of the WAGs in a hotel.

“Everybody was p****d and singing," he recalled.

"One of the players’ missus took exception to me for some reason and screamed across the bar, ‘Why were you born so f*****g ugly?’

"I was marched out of the bar by security, with 30 or so WAGs waving me goodbye and singing ‘Cheerio, cheerio, cheerio’.

“But we’d arrived four or five days before the WAGs and I was already friends with the owner.

"I pulled out my mobile, called him and within a minute I was being ushered back inside to the cheers of my colleagues.”

England, in the end, endured a nightmare campaign.

They made hard work of a group that also consisted of Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago and Sweden.

The Three Lions then battled past Ecuador in the round of 16, with David Beckham scoring the only goal of the game.

But England's hopes of World Cup glory were ended by Portugal on penalties after Wayne Rooney had seen red for a stamp on Ricardo Carvalho.

Now, per The Sun, England won't let history repeat itself.

They won't be staying at Baden-Baden and will instead look for other accommodation.

One thing is certain, however. For the first time in many years, England look like the real deal.

They were excellent against Italy on Tuesday night, claiming victory in a match they'd have lost in previous years.

Whether England can go all the way and reign supreme, and end 58 years of hurt by the tournament begins, remains to be seen.
