The PDC World Darts Championship's decision to skip the afternoon session entirely on Wednesday has not sat well with fans on social media.
The season-ending tournament is the most popular on the schedule with millions tuning in to watch the darts over the festive period.
Coverage is relentless throughout the World Darts Championship with most days split into an afternoon and evening session.
However, there is always one day in the early stages of the tournament that features just an evening session.
There is no darts this afternoon at the Ally Pally

Last year, that fell on the fourth day of the championships while the 2023 edition saw the sixth day used for the shortened schedule.
Due to the tournament always starting with one evening session, it usually leaves another to fill the gap.
This year's championships is no different and the first Wednesday of the tournament features a shorter schedule.
There are no afternoon matches with Jim Williams and Paolo Nebrida opening proceedings at 7pm this evening.
The lack of darts in the afternoon has left many fans disappointed at not being able to get their daily fix.
One message read: "No afternoon darts today? Outrageous."
Another fan joked: "Fact there is no darts this afternoon is damaging to my soul."
A third moaned: "How have we already reached the day of no afternoon sessions?!?!"
The schedule returns to normal on Thursday

One other posted: "No afternoon session of the darts today? What's that about then fuming."
Another said: "7 hours and 38 minutes untill the darts start, let me get my hands on the idiot that decided not to do an afternoon session today."

Nathan Aspinall is in action this evening

Tonight's evening session features three first-round matches as well as Nathan Aspinall's second-round tie with Leonard Gates.
The schedule returns to normal tomorrow with the likes of Callan Rydz, Martin Lukeman and Gabriel Clemens in action in the afternoon.
The first round matches finish on Saturday with the second round already underway.
