The victory marks a potential turning point for Bunting, who has endured a difficult run in the Premier League this season.
Bunting began his night with a convincing 6-2 victory over Nathan Aspinall in the quarter-finals, his first Premier League win in 10 years.
The Bullet didn't stop there, carrying his momentum into the semi-finals against World No.1 Luke Humphries.

Price, meanwhile, had a unique route to the final after Michael van Gerwen missed the evening due to a shoulder injury.
The Welshman received a walkover win in his quarter-final match against the absent Van Gerwen.
In the semi-finals, Price faced Chris Dobey, who had earlier caused an upset by eliminating fan favourite Luke Littler from the competition.
