Luke Littler has been congratulated by Wayne Rooney after the 18-year-old beat Luke Humphries to win night two of the Premier League on Thursday.
The youngster had gone into the evening hoping to bounce back after falling to defeat to Michael van Gerwen last week.
Yet Littler produced a masterclass on Thursday, with the darts star overcoming Rob Cross, Van Gerwen and Luke Humphries on his way to victory.
After his win, the teenager posted on social media to express his delight.

"That’s more like it😅 tough first game against Rob but grew in confidence and happy to be taking home the trophy🏆," he said.
"Hopefully the first of many and looking forward to fighting for another one next week in Dublin."
And Rooney was among those to congratulate Littler on his latest triumph.

Littler and Rooney have got to know each other over the past few months.
The darts star, in a recent interview with the Daily Mail, admitted he was nervous when first speaking to Rooney while they played FIFA together.
"I spoke to Wayne when we were playing FIFA one time. On a video chat," he said.
"He was fine. He asked, 'Is Luke there?' because I wasn’t talking. This was at the start of last year.
"I was thinking I can’t talk to Wayne Rooney. But then off we went in the end."
Like Littler, Rooney also became a household name when he was a teenager.
The former striker scored a memorable effort for Everton against Arsenal when he was just 16 years old, ending the Gunners' unbeaten run in the process.
Rooney then proceeded to enjoy a glittering spell at Manchester United where he won every major trophy possible before departing in 2017.
LATEST SPORTS NEWS:
Meanwhile, on Thursday, there was controversy in Glasgow with some fans whistling Humphries throughout his final defeat to Littler.
And Littler criticised the actions of the supporters by saying: "Yeah, obviously, there was a few in particular that were doing it [whistling] when Luke [Humphries] was throwing.
"Kirk [Bevins, match referee] told them to be quiet and it got even worse, and then I missed doubles and Luke breaks at 5-4.

"I'm just like, 'Kirk, you've made it worse for me there, I'm 5-4 down.' But I broke back and held my throw very strongly again.
"If it's the same (outcome) as what it was when Kirk said it, then obviously just leave it.
"Obviously, they've got to step in at some point and say something. But yeah, that was pretty bad, but I got the win."
