Among those congratulating the teenage champion was Manchester United legend David Beckham, who sent a personal message to the lifelong United fan.
Littler revealed to Sky Sports that Beckham's message simply read: "Wow, well done."
The new world champion responded with a simple "thank you" to the former England captain, who left Old Trafford four years before Littler was born.
Speaking about receiving recognition from Beckham, Littler told Sky Sports: "Goes to show how well I've done for the sport.
"Not only for myself but the other hundreds of professionals out there."
"But just to see the likes of David Beckham watching, it feels crazy," added the teenage champion.
The message highlighted the widespread impact Littler has had on darts, with his historic achievement capturing attention well beyond the sport's traditional audience.
Sixteen-time world champion Phil Taylor also praised Littler's "fantastic performance" in becoming "Champion of the World."
