Luke Littler shook off the boo boys to complete a commanding victory

Darts sensation Luke Littler delivered another statement performance in the Premier League on Thursday night, dismantling Stephen Bunting on night eight in Newcastle.

The young star whitewashed Bunting 6-0 in a remarkably swift ten-minute match.

Littler averaged an impressive 110 during the dominant display against the St Helens player.

The brutal takedown of Bunting showcased Littler's continued exceptional form in the Premier League competition.

Despite his impressive form, Littler faced a hostile reception in Newcastle, being brutally booed as he was introduced ahead of the match.

The league leader was preparing to face Bunting in the opening contest of Night 8.

However, the young star responded perfectly to the negative crowd reaction with his clinical performance on the oche.

The ten-minute demolition job silenced any critics as Littler continued his remarkable run in the Premier League competition.

Littler's dominant performance has helped maintain his position at the top of the Premier League table with 21 points.

The teenage sensation has won three nights so far with 13 games going his way.

Luke Humphries, who faced Littler in January's World Darts Championship final, sits in second place with 15 points.

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC fan Bunting, who is sixth in the PDC's order of merit table, remains bottom of the Premier League standings without a single match win.

Littler was set to face either Rob Cross or Gerwyn Price in the night eight semi-finals.

Littler has his sights set on breaking records in the competition, including Phil Taylor's 44-match unbeaten run between 2005 and 2008.

"There are still nine weeks to go and every player is capable of picking up nightly wins, but it would be great to beat the record points and break records for myself," Littler said.

Fellow player Chris Dobey has been impressed by Littler's approach, saying: "The fact that he doesn't practice, that impresses everybody. He just sits there and is so relaxed. Then he goes up there and blows you off the board."

Dobey's admiration for Littler extends beyond his relaxed approach to the game.

"He comes backstage then just stays so relaxed. He barely practices," Dobey added.

The established player didn't hold back in his assessment, declaring: "He is probably the best player on the planet at the minute."

Dobey also highlighted Littler's broader impact on the sport, noting: "You have to give him credit where it is due. All these academies and young people in the sport are down to him so."
