Darts star James Wade clears the air on viral 'farting' video, revealing the true source of the sound as he prepares for upcoming World Grand Prix.

James Wade, the professional darts player, has addressed a viral video that appeared to show him farting during a match at the Players Championship in Leicester.

The 41-year-old star has clarified that the sound heard in the clip was not flatulence, but rather the velcro on his new trainers.

The video, which quickly spread on social media, captured Wade bending at the legs after securing a 6-5 victory over Callan Rydz in the quarter-finals.

The incident garnered widespread attention, even making international headlines in the New York Times.

Wade addressed the incident in a column, stating, "I have to defend myself, and I am sticking to the story that it was the velcro on my new trainers!"

He expressed surprise at the footage's rapid spread, admitting he thought live streams ended after the final dart.

The darts star had previously taken to social media to clarify the situation, jokingly writing, "Footage has emerged of me doing what appears to be a 'shart' at the end of one of my matches.
