The 2024 PDC World Darts Championship final between Luke Littler and Luke Humphries was Russ Bray's last televised ranking match.

Darts icon Russ Bray has revealed he would be tempted to come out of retirement if Luke Littler ends up facing Beau Greaves in a world championship final in the future.

Bray brought an end to his iconic career as a PDC referee after nearly 30 years at the 2024 PDC World Darts Championships.

Known as 'The Voice of Darts' due to his unique and raspy tones, Bray first began working as a referee with the PDC back in 1996.

And his final tournament coincided with the emergence of Littler on the world's biggest stage.

Bray's final match as a PDC referee was the world championship final between Luke Humphries and Littler, with the former coming out on top.

The duo are being tipped to dominate the world of darts for years to come in leading the next generation.

But female darts star Greaves, who lost just one leg on her way to winning her second women's WDF World Championship last year, is also on the rise.

At just 20 years of age, Greaves is being tipped as someone who can break the barrier between men and women's darts.

She's currently shown a reluctance to play against the men and has snubbed repeated invites to the PDC World Championship.

However, Bray feels Greaves can join Littler in taking the world of darts by storm and would even come out of retirement to referee a final between the two youngsters.

“Luke is a once-in-a-generation darts talent," Bray told The Sun.

“After his World Championship final, he was given a place in the 2024 Premier League. Some pundits wondered if he was ready.

“Ha! He only went and won the whole thing, beating Luke Humphries in the final, including a nine-darter, in front of 14,000 screaming fans at the O2.

“Luke has the attributes to become like Phil Taylor and dominate darts for the next 20 years.

“Will he want to? Only he can answer that. But even in the first few months of his career, the effect he’s had on the sport is unbelievable.

“In fact, here’s a thought, in the not-too-distant future, I can easily imagine a World Championship final between Luke Littler and Beau Greaves.

"And how good would that be? I might even come out of retirement to call that one.”
