Chris Eubank Jr's trainer, Brian McIntrye, has been charged after being arrested at Manchester Airport for carrying a loaded gun.
The Daily Mail reported earlier on Tuesday that 'BoMac' had been detained 'amid dramatic scenes'.
The alarm was supposedly raised when a scan of his luggage, which had been checked in prior to a flight, showed the weapon with a magazine inside.
Armed police officers then descended on the departure lounge at Terminal 2 and arrested McIntrye, who had been due to fly to Atlanta. After being charged, he is now due to arrive at court on October 9.

The report says the suitcase was checked in with 'little attempt to conceal the weapon'.
A spokeperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 10:45 am on Sunday 3 September 2023, officers were called to reports of a possible firearm being found in hold luggage by airport staff at Manchester Airport.
"After initial inspection by security staff, GMP officers attended, and the firearm was seized.
"Subsequently, a man has been arrested for possession of a firearm and remains in custody for further questioning."
The American had previously overseen Eubank Jr's straightforward win over Smith in their middleweight rematch on Saturday night.
The police are now set to investigate how the gun came to be in the suitcase.
Officers will reportedly seek to establish whether it was brought into the UK or whether it was purchased on these shores.
McIntyre has previously woorked with Jamel Herring while he trained Amir Khan for his fight with Kell Brook last year.
He is also the trainer of US star Terence Crawford, wieth the two men previously growing up in the same street.
McIntyre was delighted after Eubank beat Smith on Saturday, saying: “I’m happy for Chris.
"He did some things he didn’t want to do in the camp that was going to be beneficial to him.
"He did it and got the job done.
"Everybody else was just throwing Chris away, just being disrespectful to him.
"I knew in the little time I was working with him, I knew Chris had it in him.
“He listens in the corner, he listens in camp, so he got the job done.
"I know what it takes to be a champion, and I know what it takes to win a fight.
“I’ve been studying Liam for a long time, and I’ve been watching him for a long time for previous fights [a long, long time ago] against Canelo and [Jessie] Vargas.
"So, I watched him, and I knew what kind of fighter he was.
“You just have to be a good trainer to beat that style. The style that he had, Chris displayed what he had to do to knock him off and stop him.
