Tyson Fury has made a huge call ahead of his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk

Tyson Fury has made a dramatic change to his corner team ahead of his highly anticipated heavyweight rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, removing his father John Fury from his support team.

The decision was confirmed by Fury's trainer SugarHill Steward, who revealed that John Fury will not be joining the British boxer's entourage in Saudi Arabia.

The move comes after John Fury faced significant criticism for the advice he gave his son during their previous encounter with Usyk last year, which ended in a split decision victory for the Ukrainian fighter.

SugarHill Steward outlined the streamlined corner team that will support Fury in the upcoming bout.

"Just myself, Andy Lee and the cutman, pretty much that's it," Steward confirmed.

The trainer also noted a shift in Fury's mindset ahead of the rematch.

"Tyson Fury is just ready right now, along with myself. He has always had a silly demeanour, and playing around but this is a different side of him. He is 100 per cent ready," said Steward.

Fury has dismissed Usyk's power, highlighting his resilience in their previous encounter.

"He threw his best shots. He had 10 shots on target, all on target, never dropped me. So if he couldn't drop me when I was on Bambi legs, God be with him this time," Fury told Sky Sports.

The British heavyweight emphasised his ability to withstand Usyk's strongest punches.

"I think he had his best shots to get me out of there and didn't do it," Fury said.

The Gypsy King even claimed he smiled back at his opponent after taking heavy shots, demonstrating his confidence in the ring.

Fury has issued a stark warning to his Ukrainian rival ahead of their rematch.
