Tyson Fury has hit back at Eddie Hearn's claim that Anthony Joshua is the best heavyweight boxer on the planet right now, insisting Oleksandr Usyk 'would have something to say about that'.

Joshua beat Francis Ngannou on Friday night, flooring his opponent three times as he won in two rounds.

AJ's victory over Ngannou came after victories over Jermaine Franklin Jr, Robert Helenius and Otto Wallin last year.

After the fight, Hearn said: "I'm so proud of him because there was a huge amount of pressure.

"If we won this fight then he would fight the winner of Fury v Usyk.

"You're looking at the number one heavyweight in the world."

But Fury has now hit back and admitted Usyk would probably disagree with the boxing promoter given he's beaten Joshua twice in the past.

The Ukrainian first got the better of the Watford-born star back in 2019.

And Usyk powered his way to victory over Joshua two years ago as well.

Fury, speaking to DAZN, said: "I'm sure that Oleksandr Usyk will have something to say about that given he beat him twice."

The Gypsy King did, however, praise Joshua for his victory.

"For the actual real boxing, it’s me and Usyk who fight for the undisputed heavyweight world championship of the world," he added.

"I had a s**t performance against Ngannou and I almost got it right, I predicted one round.

“He did absolutely fantastic tonight, he lit him up with a right hand and knocked him out.

"That’s what a boxer should have done with him, but if he fights next year it’ll be a different game."

With Joshua winning, hopes of a future bout with Fury have been ignited.

The 35-year-old will need to beat Usyk in order for that to happen, however, with the due to meet in Saudi Arabia on May 18.

And Fury has warned fans there's a long way to go before a fight with Joshua finally takes place.

"There is quite a long way to go, fantastic performance from AJ but I have bigger fish to fry,” Fury said.

"If we are both still available after my two fights with Usyk, let's get it on.

"He has to keep active and maybe he can fight Filip Hrgovic for the vacant IBF belt.”

Joshua, meanwhile, has insisted he'll leave his future in the hands of Hearn and trainer Ben Davison.

“I’ve got to speak to [promoter] Eddie [Hearn], Matchroom Boxing of course, 258 Management, [trainer] Ben Davison and the team," he said.

"They will shape my future, I’m just here to fight.
