Tommy Fury has not fought since beating KSI in October 2023.

Former gang leader turned boxer Matt Floyd has claimed he will face Tommy Fury in London on March 29.

The Australian fighter, who holds a professional record of 15-1, made the announcement on social media.

Floyd initially suggested the bout would take place on March 22, before sharing what appeared to be promotional material for the later March date.

The fight would mark Fury's return to the ring following his victory over KSI in Manchester in October 2023.

However, the contest has yet to be confirmed by either Fury or Misfits Boxing.

Floyd is a former president of the Western Australia chapter of the Lone Wolf Biker Gang, who has since dedicated himself to boxing and mentoring young people.

In his social media announcement, Floyd stated: "The date for the fight has now been moved to the 29th of March, this fight is a culmination of everything I've worked, and no matter what obstacles or delays come my way the goal will remain the same."

Known as 'The Jedi', Floyd most recently competed in December, securing victory against Thailand's Sirimongkhon Iamthuam.

The win was particularly significant as it avenged the only defeat of his professional career.

Fury's proposed bout with Floyd comes after a cancelled January fight with former UFC challenger Darren Till.

The match with Till fell through following a heated press conference where Till threatened to kick Fury if he was losing the bout.

Misfits co-president Mams Taylor confirmed last month that discussions were ongoing to secure a new opponent for Fury.

Fury, who holds a record of 10 wins and one draw, has not competed since his victory over KSI in Manchester.

That October 2023 contest was described as a "lacklustre decision" in Fury's favour.

Floyd shared a lengthy statement about his background, saying: "In my 20s, I was in prison for leading a gang, but it was all part of my effort to do something positive for society. I grew up surrounded by pedophiles, and that experience is what drove me to protect the innocent."

He added: "My last three fights I fought with a broken hand, but I said nothing. Hurdle after hurdle but each one fuels me more."

The Australian boxer expressed confidence in the fight happening, stating: "Everything I have ever said is gonna happen has happened and this will be no different. I've known for two years that I would fight Tommy Fury."

Despite Floyd's claims and promotional materials, neither Fury nor Misfits have officially confirmed the bout.

LATEST SPORT NEWS:

Speaking to the Daily Mail in November, Fury revealed 2024 had been the most challenging year of his life following major hand surgery.

"It's been the hardest year of my life," Fury admitted. "I've never had a year like it. There have been ups and downs, but at the end of the day, I'm here."

The boxer detailed the severity of his condition: "Starting the year out, I was in a hospital bed, and the doctor said if I didn't fix this now, I probably wouldn't box again. To be honest, it was that bad."

The surgery had left Fury fighting to save his boxing career.
