The two men will fight on July 20 with millions of fans primed to tune in

Carl Froch has alleged Mike Tyson will be paid less if he beats Jake Paul early on during their boxing match later in the year.

Tyson will be hoping to roll back the years when he comes out of retirement, having last fought Roy Jones Jr back in 2020.

Both Tyson and Paul have insisted the fight will be sanctioned as a professional bout, despite the huge 30-year age gap between the two men.

Yet Froch, speaking to Safebettingsites.com, has alleged Tyson will be 'paid less' if he beats Paul early.

He said: "The Jake Paul - Mike Tyson fight shouldn’t be happening at all, it’s not a professional boxing match, it’s an exhibition.

"From what I’m hearing with the contracts, allegedly, he gets paid less if he wins in round one, Tyson, or if he gets a knockout he gets paid even less.

"There’s restrictions in his contract based on how he wins.

"I don’t know if it’s been confirmed, but I’ve read somewhere that there’s a clause in his contract that means he’s going to earn less money if he goes out there and destroys Jake Paul.

"Because that’s Mike Tyson’s chance, isn’t it?

"Comes out, still got all of his power, still got his punching power, still feel strong, can still throw a few decent punches, but his fitness and cardiovascular endurance is pretty much gone, his reflexes are shot to bits, he’s got no real timing, he can’t extend and he hasn’t got the speed to land shots.

"So the best chance Mike Tyson’s got is to get on Jake Paul or Jake Paul tries to grab hold of him and push him off, manhandle him and f***ing smash him on the side of the head.

"Mike Tyson has got a chance early on at the start of the fight if he connects, so I reckon Jake Paul is a massive favourite in a shambles of an exhibition which I think shouldn’t be happening."

Froch then continued to criticise the upcoming fight.

"I think it’s disgusting, but I’ve made my point quite clear," he continued.

"Jake Paul, p******g around trying to promote the show, it’s embarrassing.

"I hope he lands a shot (vs Jake Paul), I just hope he lands a couple of shots and puts Jake Paul in his place, but unfortunately it’s pre-scripted, Mike Tyson doesn’t play the game, and he’s 58 when they get together.

"I’m not gonna watch it, I’m gonna refuse to watch it.

"I’m not getting involved in it."

Tyson and Paul have insisted they're 'friends' outside of the ring.

But those feelings will be set aside on July 20 when they meet at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

Tyson recently mocked Paul, suggesting the former YouTuber was 'fat' - having piled on the pounds in preparation for the fight.

And Paul, speaking to TMZ Sports, has now opened up on his body transformation.

"Everything has been good but it's been a little transition moving to heavyweight," he said.

"I definitely needed to put on weight so that I'm able to compete with Mike Tyson and so that he's not able to throw me around in the ring.

"We've been sparring heavyweights and eating more food.

"Mike Tyson has called me fat but I believe fat will turn into muscle and come fight night I believe I will be able to move and dance around the ring like a true heavyweight."
