Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will go toe-to-toe in eight two-minute rounds on Friday night.

British boxing icon Amir Khan is concerned there could be a 'dangerous' clause included in the fight deal between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.

The long-awaited controversial bout between Tyson and Paul finally takes place this Friday evening.

It's set to be Tyson's first professional bout since 2005 with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation set to make a final decision when they conduct final physical tests this week.

The former undisputed heavyweight world champion has brushed off concerns over his health, despite being forced to postpone the fight after an ulcer flare-up in the summer.

Both Tyson and Paul, who is 31 years younger, have been open about their intentions to go into the fight looking for a knockout win.

But the pre-fight talk has also led to concerns on how it would impact Tyson's health.

Former unified light-welterweight world champion Khan, who last fought against Kell Brook in 2022, is worried there might be a deal in place to try and get both fighters to stay longer in the ring.

If there is a certain prize in place for prolonging the fight, Khan fears that Tyson will happily 'take a beating' for the paycheck.

He told Prime Casino: "They’re basically saying they want to see more rounds, more entertainment, so they’re going to put that in the contract so that way, if it’s for the money that these guys are doing it for, which I assume it is, they’re going to stay in there for as long as possible.

"Every round might be $1 million or more. So really, even if he’s taken a beating, and that makes it even worse for your health.

"You know then you’re going to take a beating just to stay in there to collect the paycheck.

"It does make boxing a deadly sport, and a dangerous sport, when they throw clauses like that in there because you know then you have to survive just to make more money basically.

"Look, both fighters can bang. We know that. God forbid Mike gets hit with a massive shot and knows he’s hurt, or he gets cut, or Jake gets cut, he’s going to survive in there.

"He’s going to think 'f*** that, I’m going to survive in here and make another million. To make a million outside the ring is very hard so f*** it, I’ll stay another three minutes in the ring, take a couple more punches, I’ll be alright. It’s worth it'.

"My message to Mike Tyson is we all love Mike Tyson. He’s a friend of mine as well. He is always going to be remembered as a great.

"We all think that Mike is going to go into the ring and go for the knockout, and he might get the knockout as well, but he has to be smart in there and focused, because we want to see Mike go in there, tear him apart, and walk out in one piece."

It's been claimed that both Paul and Tyson will pocket an incredible £31million for their Netflix showdown.

Paul even offered Tyson an extra $5m that he wouldn't last more than four rounds in the fight.
