Jake Paul has fought and defeated Mike Tyson but was beaten by Tommy Fury

Jake Paul has named Tommy Fury as the toughest opponent he's faced in his professional boxing career, despite recently defeating boxing legend Mike Tyson.

The 28-year-old influencer-turned-boxer made the revelation during an appearance on the "Ring Champs with Ak & Barak" podcast.

Paul specifically highlighted Fury's timing and punch placement as being more challenging than other opponents, including Tyson and Tyron Woodley, who he noted were physically strong but less technically precise.

Paul's only professional loss came against Fury in February 2023 in Saudi Arabia, where the British boxer emerged victorious by split decision.

The fight statistics revealed a clear advantage for Fury, who landed 302 punches compared to Paul's 157.

Since that bout, Paul has remained active in the ring, securing victories over several opponents including Nate Diaz, Andre August, Ryan Bourland, Mike Perry and most recently Mike Tyson.

According to Paul, a rematch with Fury was originally planned for November last year, but failed to materialise due to poor guidance from Fury's father.

Speaking on a recent podcast, Paul said: "He was supposed to be the original person on (in November) and he thought he was worth more money. His 'dadager' is a f***ing idiot."

"It's bad and I feel bad. He's somewhat of an airhead and he's listening to his father who is also an airhead," Paul added, claiming Fury turned down "the biggest payday of his life."

The potential rematch has sparked recent exchanges between the fighters, with Fury addressing claims he was avoiding the contest.

"I beat you once already, I handed you your first loss. The minute you stepped up and fought a real boxer, you lost fair and square," Fury stated.

Paul responded sharply on social media, writing: "What [an] absolute muppet. Buddy you just pulled out of a fight for the 3rd time. You have ZERO credibility."

Paul claimed he offered Fury $8 million for the rematch, which Fury allegedly declined.

Reflecting on his opponents, Paul elaborated on why Fury stood out as his toughest challenge to date.

"Probably Tommy," Paul admitted when asked about the hardest punches he'd faced.

"I think more so his timing, right? I think timing is more important than anything."

He specifically contrasted Fury's technical abilities with other opponents: "Like, Tyron [Woodley] was strong, Mike Tyson was strong, but Tommy had better timing and placement of punches."
