Jake Paul claimed victory over Mike Tyson via unanimous decision though the spectacle outweighed the fight

After nearly a year's worth of build-up, Jake Paul's controversial fight against Tyson Fury has concluded in a points victory for the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

However, the fight was largely criticised as a drab affair as it became quickly apparent that a 58-year-old man should not be in the ring - especially against someone 31 years younger than him.

As Tyson landed just 18 punches throughout the contest, all Paul had to do was keep his distance, land his shots and allow his stamina to lead him to victory - which is exactly what he did.

But while the actual fight turned out to be a damp squib, the circumstances around the bout became more and more pantomime.

That included Paul's request to gift Tyson a pigeon in a face-off before the fight - knowing of his love for the birds and his famous pigeon coup.

However, after giving him the pigeon, Tyson revealed that he intended on feeding it to his pet falcon and it was taken off him.

The pigeon, named Richard, accompanied Paul in his car ahead of his blockbuster fight against Tyson on Friday night.

But Paul became anxious that Tyson or a member of his team had stolen the bird and he wanted to see Richard after claiming the victory

It saw a team of security officials frantically sent on a wild goose (or should that be pigeon?) chase in chaotic backstage scenes.

“Everyone wants an update on my new pigeon that Mike Tyson denied. Richard here is doing absolutely amazing, he’s thriving, and he’s having the best time. I can’t believe Mike Tyson let you go,” Paul stated in a video on his Instagram prior to Friday night.

Paul inflicted the seventh defeat of Tyson's professional career after the judges all scored the fight the social media star's way, with one judge scoring it 80-72 and the two seeing it 79-73.

It was the 59th Tyson had taken to the ring professionally and the first time since 2005 - where he was beaten by Kevin McBride.
