Conor McGregor has not fought in the UFC since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier three years ago.

Conor McGregor has failed to convince fans about his next planned comeback in the UFC after revealing plans to fight Dan Hooker in February next year.

It's been over three years since McGregor last fought in the UFC with his planned comeback against Michael Chandler falling through.

The charismatic former two-weight champion announced on social media last Christmas that he was set to step back into the octagon to fight Chandler in 2024.

UFC 303 was pencilled in for McGregor's long-awaited comeback, but the 36-year-old pulled out of the June fight with a toe injury.

It created further doubt on whether McGregor would ever fight again having last fought in January 2021 against Dustin Poirier.

McGregor was beaten by Poirier in the first round and suffered a broken leg that led to his long hiatus.

But the Irishman has continued to call on Dana White to bring him back into the fold and recently urged the UFC CEO to put him on a fight card in December.

It appears as though McGregor has given up hope of fighting in 2024 now, however he seemingly already has a fight in place for the start of next year.

When asked by Bloody Elbow whether he had a new date set in stone for his comeback, McGregor replied: "February 1, Saudi Arabia."

He then named Hooker when he was questioned about who the opponent was going to be.

Hooker is currently ranked fifth in the UFC's lightweight rankings having won his last three fights.

But some fans still need some convincing the fight will go ahead like McGregor says it will.
