Conor Benn has shown class after reacting to the news that Chris Eubank Jr has been released from hospital following their blockbuster boxing fight on Saturday.

Eubank Jr won the showdown via unanimous decision, with all three of the judges scoring in his favour.


After the bout, it emerged that the 35-year-old had been taken to hospital.

His team were quick to deny rumours of a broken jaw but said that he would be spending time recovering after the gruelling clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Earlier on Monday, it emerged that Eubank Jr had been released from hospital.

And Benn, reacting on social media, has now showed class in his response.

The boxing star, writing on X, shared the update from Sky Sports and wrote: "Great news."

And many fans on the platform have hailed Benn for his comments, with one user writing: "Massive respect to you after this fight Conor, wish you all the best going forward in your career!"

A second stated: "Good sportsmanship Conor, showed a different side of you after the fight which shows the decent man you are. Fair play."

Another said: "True sportsman, massive respect for this retweet."

A fourth reacted by saying: "Classy, Conor. Your stock has gone up tremendously."

And a fifth added: "Respect! You fought like a warrior on Saturday and hope to see a rematch!"

There was a huge shock on Saturday night when Chris Eubank Sr turned up for the clash in north London.

The 58-year-old had become estranged from his son but the pair appear to have resolved their differences.

Benn was asked about Eubank Sr attending the showdown, having previously pledged to stay away.

The boxing star responded by saying: "I grabbed him by the neck, I said: 'Mate, I'm so happy you're here. I'm so happy you turned up'.

"That's always there, that's long-standing, that's without boxing. What's boxing? What is it?

"Because I'll pick the relationship with my dad over boxing anyday.

On his display, he added: "It's a hard one because I felt like it could have been a draw, it could have gone his way, or my way.

"All I know is I gave everything I had in there tonight but it wasn't enough so I need to do better."
