The two Britons will lock horns this Saturday

Daniel Dubois' career is on the line as he prepares to face Joseph Parker this Saturday.

That's according to Carl Froch, who believes the 27-year-old can usurp Anthony Joshua to be the poster boy of British boxing if he's able to reign supreme at the weekend.

Dubois has kept a low profile in recent months, ever since beating Anthony Joshua at a packed out Wembley back in September.

He will need to be at his brilliant best in order to get the better of Parker, who will go into the showdown following impressive victories over Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilder last year.

Froch believes Dubois is the favourite as the clash rapidly approaches.

However, the 47-year-old also thinks defeat would be a disaster for the boxing star - and that his entire career is on the line as a result.

"It’s a great fight but a tricky one (to predict)," he told Action Network.

"I can see Daniel Dubois landing some heavy right hands. He times a right hand good and is confident after the Anthony Joshua win.

"It will be a tough night’s work for Joseph Parker, and for him to win, he will have to avoid that right hand for 12 rounds when he sends them in and Dubois lands those big shots. He tries it early and can punch hard.

"Parker is only 33 years old and has bags of experience at world level and is coming off some decent wins against Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang, and he got hurt in those fights at times which is why I think if Daniel Dubois hurts him, he will stay hurt.

"Daniel Dubois is a slight favourite in my mind in what will be a really good fight.

"If it goes the distance, I wouldn’t be surprised if either gets the decision.

"Parker is busy with his movement, but it’ll be the eye-catching shots that nick the rounds and if Dubois is landing big shots, and can hurt Parker which he can, then it will be hard (for Parker). It’s such an intriguing fight.

"I’m more excited for that fight than the Beterbiev vs Bivol rematch.

"It’s going to be much of the same while Daniel Dubois being the newly crowned IBF heavyweight champion after doing what he did against Anthony Joshua, he now has the opportunity at 27 years old to become the face of Britain and heavyweight boxing.

"Joseph Parker has a chance to upset the whole game plan moving forward so there’s a lot at stake.

LATEST SPORTS NEWS:

"I love high stakes which is why I am not interested in Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr or Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury, it doesn’t get the juices flowing.

"You will watch but when you’re talking about what is at stake, Daniel Dubois’ career is on the line here if he loses to Joseph Parker.

"I’m not saying he can’t come again but this would be a bad defeat for him. He’s just beaten AJ so imagine him losing to Parker now?

"That’s a bad loss and I’m not taking anything away from Parker because he’s good, experienced and has been at the top level.

Dubois vs Parker will take place in Saudi Arabia this weekend.
