Anthony Joshua has declared his intention to face Tyson Fury in 2025, making the announcement during a visit to Nigerian President Bola Tinubu.
The former world heavyweight champion, who suffered a fifth-round knockout against Daniel Dubois in September, remains determined to secure the long-awaited bout with Fury.
"[In] 2025, I'm targeting Fury," Joshua stated during his Nigerian visit.
The potential clash has gained renewed interest following Fury's recent points defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, with timing now appearing favourable for both fighters to meet in the ring.

Joshua's recent setback has only fuelled his determination to return stronger.
"[The loss to Dubois] makes me hungry, makes me want to work harder. Time is of the essence, time is limited, so I just want to put in more work," Joshua said.
The 35-year-old expressed regret over his 2024 performance but sees 2025 as an opportunity for redemption.
"When I look back, I believe I could have done more in 2024. I have another chance in 2025 to do more and I am going to make sure I take every opportunity that comes my way," he added.
"My life is up and down so I have to get used to the turbulent times and keep riding the wave. I can't stop now."
Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, has confirmed that AJ will step into the ring twice in 2025.
"AJ will fight twice in 2025. Once in the summer and once in the winter," Hearn stated.
The promoter indicated that Joshua will be prepared to resume training this month.

"At the moment, you've got the Dubois fight on 22 February, and you've got to see what Fury wants to do. We're not in a terrible rush," he added.
The scheduling announcement comes as Joshua looks to rebuild following his September defeat.
Hearn has made it clear that Joshua's next opponent will be either Dubois or Fury.

"If we can't make the Dubois fight and if Fury doesn't want to fight, then you have to make the decision to fight somebody, or do you wait for those fights?" Hearn said.
The promoter emphasised that these two opponents are the priority for Joshua's next bout.
"What I know is the focus is Daniel Dubois or Tyson Fury," he stated.
Hearn highlighted the significance of a potential Fury bout, noting: "Of course, Joshua's done it all. If he gets Fury on his resume, he's boxed virtually everybody of his era."
