The Brit has sat down to discuss a range of topics

Boxing fans have ripped into Anthony Joshua after he recently sat down with Louis Theroux for an interview.

The Brit has long been one of the poster boys of his sport, having been a prominent figure for well over a decade.

In his chat with Theroux, he discussed a potential fight with Tyson Fury - as well as his infamous outburst following his defeat to Aleksandr Usyk last year.

He sometimes appears tense while on camera, however, and boxing fans have criticised the interview while taking aim at Joshua in the process.

One fan said on X: Anthony Joshua could find a way to argue in an empty room.. the bloke has a chip on his shoulder the size of his ego."

A second said: "Watching Anthony Joshua being interviewed by @louistheroux Weird.

"The guy is never comfortable on camera and acts very strangely when being questioned. Stick to the boxing my guy."

A third said: "Usually love Louis Theroux stuff, but this is a snoozefest. Sorry."

"Anthony Joshua coming across in this Louie Theroux doc predictably like an insufferable self obsessed nause," were the words of another fan.

And a fifth said: "Hmm @louistheroux sit down interview with @anthonyjoshua is a bit weird."

Joshua can sometimes appear stiff and awkward during interviews.

He was quizzed on his outburst following his defeat to Usyk last year, with the Brit saying at the time: "If you knew my story you would understand the passion.

"I ain't no amateur boxer from five-years-old that was an elite prospect from youth.

"I was going to jail, I got bail and I started training my a**e off, I wanted to be able to fight.

"I'm stealing this Usyk, I'm sorry, but it's because of the passion we put into this."

Discussing his comments, Joshua told Theroux: "That was an ego and pride thing coming out. I brought this heavyweight division back - that was in me.

“Right or wrong, probably wrong.”

Theroux then responded by saying: “Probably wrong, probably wrong I think. I don’t think anyone says it was the right thing to do.”

And Joshua looked irritated before then snapping back by saying: “You asked me a question and I’m answering it.”

When asked about his decision to throw his belts to one side, Joshua explained himself by saying: “It was like that these don’t even mean anything anyway.

“I’ve thrown them because that’s what I’ve felt like and grabbed the mic, I addressed the crowd.

“Could I have done it better? Of course I could have. I felt frustrated, annoyed.

“I knew I was out of the title race and then the questions started, ‘what is he like? Where is his head at?’

“All this ‘can he be three-time champion of the world?’ People create this narrative and put pressure on me.

“It’s too much. Gone are the days it was for the fun, when you’re just doing it for the passion, you’re a prospect.”
