Alexander, who has worked with the royal during her time as ambassador for Magic Millions, praised her down-to-earth nature.
"Zara is genuinely one of the loveliest and most down-to-earth people I've ever had the pleasure of working with," he continued to tell Hello!.
Her relaxed energy and natural beauty stand out to the veteran makeup artist.
Alexander first worked with Zara during her ambassadorship for Magic Millions, the glamorous racing carnival on Australia's Gold Coast.
Despite the heat, crowds and cameras, he said her look was all about restraint and radiance.
"When I worked with Zara at Magic Millions, her look was all about enhancing her natural features," he explains.
"She knows what works for her and prefers a polished yet pared-back approach to glam."
Alexander revealed his step-by-step approach to achieving Zara's royal-approved glow.
"My first tip when creating a red-carpet-ready look like Zara's is to start with great skin," he explained.
He begins with Le Correcteur De Chanel concealer, followed by Charlotte Tilbury's Hollywood Flawless Filter as a primer.
For foundation, he uses Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet, buffed in with a short-bristle brush.
On the cheeks, Chanel Les Beiges Sun Kissed Powder provides the perfect combination of bronzer, blush and highlighter.

For that glossy finish that lasts, he recommends Oribe Royal Blowout.
