Even the highest-profile families have turned to the tracking devices to keep an eye on their children's safety

Zara and Mike Tindall have been spotted using a piece of tracking technology to keep an eye on their children.

The Tindalls were seen stepping out Lincolnshire's Burghley Horse Trials on Saturday - with Mike and the three kids watching on as Zara competed.

And though Zara, 43, was the centre of attention at the trials, the couple's 10-year-old daughter Mia appeared to be on the forefront of her parents' minds.

Mia, the Tindalls' eldest child, was spotted sporting an Apple AirTag hitched to her shorts as she and her siblings - Lena, six, and Lucas, three, ran around in the grass.

The watch-sized "tags" have been on the market since 2021 - and though they may have initially been sold to keep tabs on valuables like bags and keys, parents have started using them to get a handle on their children's movements.

The Tindalls' use of the tech at the Burghley Horse Trials demonstrates how even the most high-profile families are adopting the tracking devices to keep an eye on their children's safety during busy events.

Later at the horse trials, Mia was photographed taking pictures of her father Mike as she played with her siblings - who later had to intervene to break up a playful scuffle between his younger children.

Burghley Horse Trials, held annually at Burghley House in Stamford, is a prestigious three-day event testing equestrian skills in dressage, jumping, and cross country.

And alongside the Tindall family, Zara's brother Peter Phillips, 46, was spotted at the event with his new girlfriend, Harriet Sperling.

Despite a strong start, Zara, an Olympic silver medallist, took a fall near the end of the cross country course - but was fortunately unharmed.

And it wasn't just Zara's sporting prowess which turned heads at Burghley.

The Princess Royal's daughter has become the face of a fresh collaboration between some of Britain's top sporting brands, with Musto and Fairfax & Favor coming together to launch a new selection of classy raincoats.

The coats, priced between £350 and £450, reflect Zara's appreciation for quality outdoor wear.

Zara has credited her mother for instilling in her the importance of "good quality clothing".

In a recent interview, she said: "Mum taught me the importance of having good-quality clothing that keeps you warm and comfortable outdoors.

"As a sportswoman who spends most of my time in nature, this is more important than ever to help me stay at my best."
