Royal sources have described the bond as a 'friendship for life'

Princess Charlotte has formed an unbreakable bond with her cousin Mia Tindall, sources have claimed.

The special friendship between nine-year-old Charlotte and 11-year-old Mia has grown stronger throughout 2024, as the Princess of Wales underwent cancer treatment.

Whilst Princess Kate is now in remission, the cousins' relationship has blossomed into what royal sources describe as a "friendship for life."

A royal source told Woman's Day Magazine: "What happened to Charlotte's mum shocked everyone, but energetic Mia was the perfect distraction for the princess throughout those scary months of 2024."

The source revealed that Charlotte has "always been in awe of Mia and her fun-loving side."

While there was initially some playful "my dad's the best" rivalry between the cousins, that has since disappeared.

"Kate and Zara are happy to report their girls have formed a friendship for life," the source added.

The young royals have been spotted together at numerous high-profile events, including Trooping the Colour and the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Their close bond was particularly evident during the Royal Family's Christmas Day walk to St Mary Magdalene church at Sandringham.

A touching moment was captured when Mia hurried over to join Charlotte, with the cousins sharing a joke as they walked side by side.

The pair have also previously been seen together at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's wedding.

The heartwarming relationship between the cousins has captured the attention of royal watchers on social media.

"Love that Charlotte and Mia seem to be so close - cousins are just the best!" wrote one enthusiastic royalist.

Another social media user noted: "They are related but also seem like great friends."

Mia is the eldest of Zara and Mike Tindall's three children, alongside Lena, six, and Lucas, three.

Charlotte is the middle child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, between Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, six.

"Love their bond, just like their mom and dad growing up as kids," commented another social media user, highlighting the parallel between the young cousins and their parents.

The friendship between Charlotte and Mia mirrors the close relationship shared by their mothers, the Princess of Wales and Zara Tindall.

Their growing bond has provided comfort and joy during a challenging year for the Royal Family, as King Charles continues his cancer treatment.
