Sarah Ferguson has admitted she "does not know" about Prince Andrew's eviction in a cryptic statement.

King Charles is understood to be keen for the Duke of York to downsize and leave Royal Lodge, his home since 2003.

Prince Andrew and Sarah divorced in 1996, but the two have remained friendly, even living together at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

When asked about the rumours that their days in the mansion were numbered, Fergie had a cryptic response.

The Duchess of York told ¡HOLA! TV: "Don’t always believe what you read."

The former working royal clarified that she does not have much insight into the situation.

She added: "I don’t know. I take every day as it comes."

Fergie previously shed light on the King's feud with Prince Andrew on Good Morning Britain.

When asked what was transpiring regarding the home, she said: "It’s not a debby downer, it’s life in the fast lane."

She added: "I'm a guest, for a start. I'm a very lucky guest and a very comfortable guest. Thank you very much."

The duchess said she would not interject herself in the feud, preferring to let Charles and Andrew sort it out between the two of them.

Sarah said: "I tend not to get involved in brothers’ discussions and I think that’s the best, most safe place to be, is to let the brothers discuss it between themselves."

Prince Andrew technically owns the lease, which still has 55 more years, and has no plans to move out of the 30-room home.

King Charles, however, may want his brother to leave the property because it requires many repairs.

Another indicator that the monarch could be preparing to evict Andrew from the estate is that he is thought to be doing away with Andrew's security team.

This would take place after the 10-man team's contract is up in the autumn.
