Danish royals Prince Joachim and Princess Marie have arrived in Canada to join the star-studded lineup at the Invictus Games in Vancouver Whistler on Saturday.

The royal couple were seen courtside at the Volleyball, cheering on the Danish team with the Duke of Sussex.


The European royals will attend various events at the sporting competition for wounded and injured servicemen and women, which concludes today.

They have joined an impressive line-up of celebrities who have already made appearances at the Games, including Coldplay's Chris Martin, Nelly Furtado and Michael Buble.

Prince Harry, the founder of the Invictus Games, will remain in Canada until the closing ceremony on Sunday evening.

Harry was seen joining in the chanting, singing and flag waving during volleyball matches on Saturday.

The duke is set to attend further sitting volleyball matches and present the medals at the final later tonight.

Meghan Markle, 43, returned to Montecito on Tuesday as planned to be with their children, Archie and Lilibet.

The Danish royals have used the opportunity to openly show their support for their nation's athletes during the engagements.

Their attendance marks another significant royal presence at the international sporting event, which celebrates the resilience and determination of wounded service personnel.

Prince Joachim and Princess Marie travelled from Washington D.C., where they currently reside.

The prince serves as the military industry attaché at the Danish Embassy.

The couple relocated to the United States in September 2023, having previously lived in Paris.

They are parents to Count Henrik, 15, and Countess Athena, 13, while Prince Joachim also has two older sons from a previous marriage - Count Nikolai, 25, and Count Felix, 22.
