Grant Harrold said royal fans are growing increasingly 'frustrated' with Harry

A former royal butler has delivered a stark assessment of Prince Harry's trajectory since leaving the UK, noting widespread disillusionment on both sides of the Atlantic.

Grant Harrold, who previously served the Royal Family, said on GB News: "A lot of people, both in the United States and the UK, have kind of made their minds up."

He acknowledged his own affection for the prince, stating: "Royal fans that I get to meet have a lot of love for Harry. I love Harry."

Harrold highlighted a growing frustration over what he sees as contradictory behaviour from the Sussexes.

"They keep stressing they want their privacy and they want to be left alone but then the next minute they're doing these documentaries and people are in their homes," he said.

"It's causing a lot of confusion, which I think is frustrating people," the former royal butler added.

Reflecting on Harry's departure from royal life, Harrold expressed bewilderment at the turn of events.

"It's really difficult to pinpoint why and how it's all kind of gone so badly wrong," he said.

The former butler recalled initial expectations following the royal wedding: "When they got married, we all assumed that they would undertake royal duties in the UK like his brother and sister in law."

"That's not what has happened. Initially, I think everybody thought 'we'll see what happens'," he added.

His comments come as new polling data reveals a significant shift in public perception of the Duke of Sussex.

A recent Ipsos survey found that just 21 per cent of Britons now consider Prince Harry more of a royal family member than a celebrity.

The findings, reported in the Telegraph, mark a notable change in how the British public views Harry's status since his departure from official royal duties.

The poll, which surveyed 1,091 people, found that 40 per cent viewed the Duke of Sussex primarily as a celebrity.

A further 20 per cent considered him both a royal and a celebrity, while 16 per cent said he was neither.

The remaining respondents said they did not know how to categorise him.

The survey also revealed that 43 per cent of those polled held an unfavourable view towards Prince Harry.
