Virginia Giuffre's family has issued a statement saying she remains in "serious condition" following a collision between a school bus and her car in rural Western Australia on March 24.
The statement contrasts with police reports describing the incident as a "minor crash" with no reported injuries.
Giuffre, known for her allegations against Prince Andrew, is currently receiving medical care, according to her family.
The incident has sparked confusion after Giuffre initially posted on social media that she had been given four days to live.

The Giuffre family statement, in full, reads: "Virginia thanks everyone for the outpouring of love and support. She is overwhelmed with gratitude. Today she remains in serious condition while receiving medical care.
"On March 24, in rural Western Australia, a school bus hit the car in which she was riding. The police were called but said that there was no one available to come to the scene. They asked if anyone was injured and suggested that if they were, they should make their way to the hospital.
"The school bus driver had a bus full of distraught children and left the scene to get them back, saying he would file a police report, which he did later. Virginia was banged up and bruised and returned home.
"Virginia's condition worsened and she was admitted to the hospital. Concerning her Instagram post, Virginia thought that she had posted on her private Facebook page. Virginia and her family thank everyone for their concern."
Western Australia Police Force provided a different account of the incident to media outlets.
The police statement, in full, said: "The Western Australia Police Force received a report of a minor crash which occurred between a bus and a car in Neergabby on 24 March just after 3pm.
"The collision was reported by the bus driver the following day. The car sustained approximately $2,000 worth of damage. There were no reported injuries as a result of the crash. The driver of the car was a 71-year-old woman. A passenger in the car was a 41-year-old woman."
In her original Instagram post on March 30, Giuffre wrote: "This year has been the worst start to a new year."

She claimed a school bus driver was "driving 110km as we were slowing for a turn" and that her car "might as well be a tin can."
Giuffre stated: "I've gone into kidney renal failure, they've given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology."
She added she was "ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time." Her spokesperson later confirmed she was "receiving medical care in the hospital."
Giuffre is known for her allegations against Prince Andrew, which were detailed in a civil lawsuit filed in 2021.
She claimed she was trafficked to London by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell and forced to have sex with the royal when she was 17.
Her lawsuit alleged sexual abuse occurred in London, New York and on Epstein's private island in the US Virgin Islands.
In 2022, Giuffre received an out-of-court settlement reported to be worth millions from the Duke of York.
The settlement accepted no liability, and Andrew has always strongly rejected the claims.
As part of the settlement, Prince Andrew agreed to pay an unspecified amount to Giuffre and her charity for victims' rights.
