The Duchess of Sussex is expected to join Prince Harry at the Invictus Games

Royal fans have been given a fresh opportunity to witness the star-studded Invictus Games opening ceremony, as organisers have released additional lower bowl and floor seats.

The sought-after tickets for the February 8 event at BC Place in Vancouver had previously sold out, prompting the new release.

The Invictus Games announced on social media: "These won't be around for long either so make sure you secure your tickets today."

The news comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to make a joint appearance at the ceremony, marking a significant shift in their public engagements.

Meghan Markle will join Prince Harry at the Games following a reported change in the couple's professional strategy.

The shift comes after the appointment of Three Gate Strategies as their communications team, led by former Head of Communications Ashley Hansen.

"There will be a renewed focus on the Sussexes as a couple, as a brand and showcasing them as a couple and family," a source told the Express.

The move represents a departure from their recent pattern of solo engagements, which reportedly received lukewarm public response.

"It was important for the Sussexes to appear together at such a worthwhile event," the source added.

The opening ceremony promises an impressive lineup of international talent.

American singer Katy Perry will headline the event, alongside Grammy-nominated artist Noah Kahan and Canadian performer Nelly Furtado.

The star-studded show will take place at BC Place Vancouver, setting the stage for nine days of sporting competition.

The Games will showcase the determination and resilience of wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women from around the world.

The couple's new direction comes as part of a broader strategy under Three Gate Strategies.

"The Sussexes have decided to step back a little," according to the source speaking to the Express.

Their renewed focus on joint appearances will extend beyond the Invictus Games, with plans already in motion for a fundraiser supporting victims of recent Los Angeles wildfires.

The PR firm, led by Ashley Hansen, has advised the couple to prioritise united appearances to improve their public image. This strategic shift marks a departure from their previous approach of maintaining professional separation.

The Games will conclude with a closing ceremony at Rogers Arena on February 16. The closing event will be exclusively for adults, allowing participants and officials to celebrate their achievements.

The Invictus Games holds special significance for the Sussex family's future, according to the source.

"The Invictus Games is a Sussex initiative and something they want their children to continue once they get older," the source told the Express.

This legacy planning reflects the couple's long-term commitment to the sporting event that celebrates military service members.
