The Princess of Wales is heavily protected during her trips to the USA

Princess Kate received a sweet birthday message from the US Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) on social media.

The DSS is the law enforcement and security arm of the State Department in the United States.


On January 9, the DSS's social media team took to X to wish the Princess of Wales a happy 42nd birthday.

They wrote: "Happy 42nd birthday to Catherine, Princess of Wales!

"When she visits the US, the Diplomatic Security Service is on duty, keeping her safe behind the scenes.

"We're proud to ensure her safety and well-being every step of the way!"

They captioned the post with the hashtags #PrincessofWales and #HappyBirthdayCatherine.

The DSS accompanied the post with a photograph of Kate wearing a fitted houndstooth dress by Emilia Wickstead.

The picture was taken during the princess's visit to Boston in December 2022, to attend Prince William's Earthshot Prize Awards.

Royal fans were thrilled that the DSS took to social media to wish a happy birthday to the Princess of Wales.

One commented underneath: "Thank you for looking after and keeping our lovely Princess of Wales safe."

Another said: "Thank you for your service in keeping the Prince and Princess safe during their Boston visit.
