Princess Kate was branded "out of touch during her surprise BBC cameo on Children in Need last night.
Opening the yearly televised fundraiser at 7pm, the 41-year-old future Queen gave a pre-recorded video message to viewers at home.
She explained that Children In Need is "all about helping to support, champion and empower all children to be the very best they can be."
Many argued on social media that Kate wasn't the ideal option to open the show, with some calling her £250 Lisou blouse tone-deaf.
Fans went online to call the Princess of Wales "out of touch" for her surprise appearance.
One said: "I hope Kate is going to announce a 10 percent cut in royal funding from public taxes.
"Think how much that would raise for charity."
Another added: "What is Kate doing opening Children in Need? So out of touch. Not a good start."

"That's £354million less than we gave the royals. The hypocrisy."
