Queen Mary's daughter, Princess Isabella of Denmark, has been praised as a "modern royal" by an art expert, after she was holding an iPhone in an official royal portrait.
The photograph was released on the Danish Royal Family's social media channels on Tuesday, one day after the princess's 18th birthday celebrations.
In the photograph, captured by royal photographer Steen Evald in the Knight's Hall of Frederik VIII's Palace, the daughter of Queen Mary and King Frederik X is seen wearing a tangerine gown whilst holding her mobile phone in a burgundy case.
The princess personally thanked well-wishers on social media, signing off as "H.K.K Prinsesse Isabella" for the first time.
James Thomas, from Appraisals Marten Stanmore Auctions, told GB News that the portrait shows her personality.
He told the People's Channel: "Princess Isabelle's official 18th birthday portrait is wonderfully uplifting, capturing her genuine joy and radiant personality.
"Her broad smile and relaxed posture speak to a modern royal confident in her role and approachable in demeanour.
"Significantly, this portrait marks Princess Isabelle's first time wearing a tiara, symbolising a meaningful milestone within royal tradition."
The tiara worn by Princess Isabella was a special 18th birthday gift from her grandmother, Queen Margrethe.
The Danish Royal House confirmed the delicate headpiece features turquoise and diamonds set in flower patterns, creating a meaningful connection to Queen Margrethe, whose family nickname is "Daisy".
The palace explained the piece is a "bandeau" style tiara made of gold and adorned with 11 rosettes of daisy-like flowers in decreasing sizes.
The historic piece was made in the late 19th century and originally belonged to Crown Princess Margareta of Sweden, before being passed to Princess Ingrid as a confirmation gift in 1920.

GettyThe expert added: "Her contemporary touch—holding an iPhone—bridges the gap between the historical symbolism of her jewellery and the digital age, elegantly reflecting a modern monarchy attuned to today's world.
"The portrait notably features Princess Isabelle wearing the Royal Family Order of King Frederik X of Denmark, reflecting the recent generational transition following Queen Margrethe's abdication in 2024.
"This detail emphasises Isabelle's growing role within a monarchy that is embracing a new era.
"Combined with her vibrant, contemporary orange gown, this distinctive detail highlights her fresh approach, youthful energy, and the modernity she brings to the royal family."
