The Danish royal palace confirmed her solo attendance on their official website.
The funeral mass will take place in St Peter's Square on Saturday.
King Frederik will not be in attendance as he is currently away on a three-day visit to Japan, with a further trip to Greenland planned for Monday.

The 53-year-old Queen will join numerous world leaders and royals at the sombre occasion, including Prince William, to pay tribute to Pope Francis, who died on Easter Monday at the age of 88 following a stroke and heart failure.
The Pontiff had served as head of the Catholic Church for 12 years.
An official statement announced: "Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow, I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis.
"His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and His church."

Queen Mary and King Frederik were previously received in an audience by Pope Francis during their official visit to Italy in 2018.
King Frederik arrived in Japan on Wednesday for a busy schedule of engagements, including a meeting with Emperor Naruhito.
Prince William will represent his father, King Charles, at the funeral.
Other royals attending include King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain, and King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium.

King Charles's absence follows precedent set by Queen Elizabeth II, who never attended a pontiff's funeral.
