Queen Mary takes the lead in a popularity poll on the new King and Queen of Denmark.
The new study found that both King Frederik and Queen Mary are widely popular amongst Danish people.
The survey found that 82 percent of respondents felt that Frederik will fare “well” or “very well” in his new role.
But Mary scored even higher with 86 percent of Danes feeling that she will do well as Queen of Denmark.

The Australian-born queen worked in marketing communications and advertising before meeting Frederik in a Sydney bar during the 2000 Summer Olympics.
She is the world’s first Australian born Queen.
Mary remains popular amongst Danes as she advocates for the rights of girls and women.
In 2007 she founded The Mary Foundation, which combats bullying, domestic violence and fights “social isolation based on the belief that everyone has the right to belong.”

It was reported that Mary did not know Frederik’s royal title when they first met in Australia as he introduced himself as just “Fred.”
Mary talked about their first meeting in an interview for her 50th birthday stating: “Once we started our conversation, it never stopped.”
The royal couple continued their long-distance relationship until they were married in Copenhagen in 2004.
The royal couple’s relationship was brought to media attention over the last couple of months as rumours of an affair between Frederik and Mexican socialite Genoveva Casanova circulated.
