The Queen launched her new podcast in January, seven months after it was announced the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were dropped from the streaming giant

Queen Camilla celebrated a victory with her new podcast today, just seven months after it was announced Meghan Markle's Spotify deal was axed.

The Queen launched a new podcast titled The Queen's Reading Room Podcast earlier this month.

It was named after the online book club she created during lockdown in 2021, while the Covid-19 pandemic was still rife.

The first episode of the podcast included high-profile guests like Sir Ian Rankin and Dame Joanna Lumley, where they discussed their favourite books and literature.

Today, Camilla celebrated her new podcast topping the Apple Podcast charts in the UK, Canada, and Australia.

It also ranked third place in New Zealand and sixth in the United States.

This comes as Meghan Markle's Spotify deal which she shared with Prince Harry was axed in 2023.

The Duchess of Sussex had only produced one podcast titled Archetypes, which featured popular celebrities like Serena Williams and Mariah Carey.

According to reports, Spotify, Prince Harry, and Meghan made a “mutual decision” to part ways on their lucrative exclusive deal.

They added in their joint statement that the Sussexes and Spotify were "proud" of the material they made together.

At the time, Daniel Ek, Spotify’s CEO, said the company was "stepping out of some deals and relationships that haven’t worked out".

He added: “We overpaid relative to what we should have done."
