The Queen dismissed any suggestion that her husband might reduce his workload with a blunt "Dream on" response whilst speaking to reporters during the couple's recent state visit to Italy.

Her frank remarks highlight the monarch's unwavering commitment to his royal duties despite his ongoing health challenges.

"I think he loves his work, and it keeps him going. And I think it's wonderful, you know, if you've been ill and you are recovering, you're getting better and now he wants to do more and more and more. That's the problem," Queen Camilla told the BBC.

She explained that her husband is fundamentally motivated by service to others.

"That's what he's driven by — helping others," she added, suggesting the King's dedication to public service remains undiminished despite his health struggles.

Camilla's candid assessment mirrors King Charles's own playful remarks about their relationship last year.

When thanked for a kind comment, the King gestured towards his wife with a smile, saying: "I just obey my instructions."

The royal couple's visit to Italy took place from April 7 to April 10, during which Camilla made these revealing comments to reporters.

The state visit came as King Charles continues his cancer treatment, which was announced earlier this year.
