Princess Mary seen in tears after posting cryptic message just a month after Prince Frederik 'affair' rumours

The royal couple are heading to Brisbane after spending four days in New Zealand.

Mary and Frederik were joined by their children Prince Vincent, Princess Josephine and Princess Isabella.

It comes as Princess Mary made a cryptic post about loneliness on her foundation's website.

Princess Mary is an Australian-born member of the Danish Royal Family.

She married Prince Frederik nearly 20 years ago in 2004.

During their time in New Zealand, Mary posted a letter on her foundation's website reflecting on 2023.

She wrote: "So much has happened that it is impossible to put it all into words."

An extract shared on the Danish Royal Family's Instagram page read: "We need each other if we are to succeed.

"And that's not only true in the working world and for those of us who are working to combat social isolation.

"This is true for all of us. Humans need humans."

The Danish Royal Family has recently been rocked by affair rumours surrounding Prince Frederik.

The rumours were sparked when pictures of Prince Frederik enjoying a night out in Spain with his friend Genoveva Casanova without his wife were published.

Casanova issued a statement in November strongly denying any romantic relationship with the Danish prince.

She said: "I flatly deny the statements that suggest a romantic relationship between Prince Frederick and me."

"Any statement of this type is not only completely untrue but also distorts the facts in a malicious manner.

"This is already in the hands of my lawyers, who will take care of the pertinent steps to protect my right to honour, truth and privacy."
