Princess Kate is planning to attend two key public events in the next phase of her recovery from cancer, GB News’ Royal Correspondent has claimed.
The 40-year-old confirmed that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment in an emotional video earlier this week.
In the moving video - which featured Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - she confirmed that she will return to her working royal duties soon and that she will make several public engagements before the year is out.
GB News’ Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker said that he expects Kate to attend more than two events between now and the end of the year.
He sat down with GB News’ Digital Royal Editor Svar Nanan-Sen for this week’s episode of The Royal Record Episode to discuss Kate’s announcement and how she will set a new protocol for royal duties.
Cameron said: “I know for a fact she's planning to attend at least two, but there's hope that certainly there will be more than two.
“Those two examples are the Cenotaph Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday in November. She very much hopes to go to that and she has started, I understand, planning her annual carol concert at Westminster Abbey for the Christmas period in December.”
However, he reiterated that Kensington Palace had not confirmed either of those engagements.
ROYAL LATEST:
The Princess of Wales stepped back from working royal duties to focus on her health after she was diagnosed with cancer
Will WarrCameron stated that he expects her priorities to have shifted now and this will be reflected in her upcoming appearances.
He said: “I suspect also, what the Princess will want to prioritise is her early childhood projects and engagements, because of course, she hasn't done a external engagements to do with early childhood since 2023, so I suspect that's going to be pretty high on her priority list.”
In the three minute clip, Kate said that she was focused on “staying cancer free” as she continues her recovery.
The royal added that she must continue to take each day as it comes as her road to healing fully remains long.
Kate announced that she was undergoing chemotherapy in March of this year, and subsequently stepped back from any royal duties.
She made her first public appearance a few months later, at Trooping the Colour in June, followed by an outing to Wimbledon to watch the men’s final in July.
Between these two engagements, she released her first message to the public since her diagnosis, stating that she was “making good progress" but is not “out of the woods yet”.
