The mother and daughter have a close relationship

Princess Eugenie has described herself as a "proud mama and daughter" in her latest social media post to mark Mother's Day.

The Princess of York, who turned 35 last Sunday, shared three snaps to her 1.8 million Instagram followers.


The post, which praised her mother, included a black and white photo of Sarah Ferguson, with both royals smiling at the camera.

While a second snap showed Eugenie's two children, August, four, and Ernest, one, reading a children's book.

Eugenie accompanied the post with a heartfelt caption, admitting she was "proud" to be the duchess's daughter.

She wrote: "Happy Mother's Day from this proud mama and daughter xxxx 💕 💕"

Eugenie's post featured her husband, Jack Brooksbank, who is seen standing over his family in the first picture.

The royal couple were married in 2018 at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, after they first met during a 2010 ski trip in Verbier, Switzerland.

The princess showed a handmade card, made by her children, that read, "Mama Happy Mama's Day" and was signed by August and Ernest.

Jack and Eugenie welcomed their first child in 2021 and their second in 2023.

The princess is the youngest daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, the Duke and Duchess of York.

The mother-and-daughter duo have a close relationship, often posting photos of each other to mark special occasions.

Last Sunday, Fergie posted a collection of photo's for her youngest daughter's birthday.

The duchess wrote: "Wishing a wonderful birthday to my beloved daughter, @princesseugenie!

"It has been a joy to watch you grow into such an extraordinary person, full of kindness, wisdom, and strength.

"Your generosity and warmth brighten the lives of so many, and I am endlessly proud of all that you do. With all my love on your special day. X"
