Shand's departure from Hauser & Wirth, where she served as associate director, marks the end of her nearly eight-year tenure in the art industry.
In her LinkedIn announcement, Shand acknowledged the challenges of her career shift.
"Although it is a total shift in sector and in some ways skillset (and yes the imposter syndrome is real). I believe that the only way to grow is to challenge yourself, to feel like you are the stupidest person in the room, and to feel vulnerable once again," she wrote.
She expressed gratitude to her former colleagues at Hauser & Wirth.

PAThe move will see her helping to expand Trinny London's presence in the American market.
The Queen's niece emphasised her excitement about the new chapter in her professional life.
Shand explained her motivation for joining Trinny London was rooted in her belief in the brand's mission.
"I decided to take the job not because of my love of the industry I'm a novice but because of my belief in the brand," she stated.
She described Trinny London as "skincare and make up for women on the go, for those who don't have time for a 20-step routine."
