Princess Eugenie has opened up about her childhood fear ahead of a significant day for the royal.
Eugenie, 34, posted a picture on her Instagram of her as a young girl as she revealed a deep fear she had whilst she was a child.
In the picture, a toddler-Eugenie is playing on the beach with a bucket and spade, whilst her face is covered in suncream. In the adorable snap, she is also sporting a blue hat and a matching blue swimming costume.
Alongside the photo, the princess let her followers in on a secret about her as a child: “I love the ocean now but I was actually scared of it as a child”.

The majority of her followers agreed with the Princess’ passion for the oceans, with 72 per cent voting that they were a fan, as of 18 hours after she posted the poll.
Eugenie shared the old picture ahead of World Oceans Day which falls on June 8, a poignant day for the 34-year-old as she is an ambassador for the Blue Marine Foundation.
She also posted a photo of a fin of a whale rising out of the ocean, reminding her followers that World Ocean Day was coming up and encouraging them to “check out” the foundation.

The 34-year-old has been keen to spread awareness of the special day. Earlier this week, she posted a photo on her Instagram page of her paddle-boarding through a lake, whilst a beautiful sunset peaks over a hill and illuminated both the water and the Princess.
In the striking photo, the 34-year-old appeared to be wearing a summer dress as she waded through the water.
She told her followers: “Ahead of World Oceans Day I'm reflecting on some of the beautiful moments the Ocean can give us. World Oceans Day - 8th June.”
Alongside these words, the Princess shared a video of whales swimming in the blue ocean.

Alongside her work with the Blue Marine Foundation, the Princess is also a patron to many other charities.
In 2017, Eugenie co-founded The Anti-Slavery Collective with her friend Julia De Boinville in an attempt to find solutions to tackle modern slavery.
