Princess Eugenie has said her "heart hurts" in a new statement following England's devastating defeat to Spain.
The Princess of York, 34, watched England lose the Euros final at home with her husband Jack Brooksbank and sons, August and Ernest.
The royal took to social media with four photographs following the sad result, including that of Gareth Southgate, Harry Kane and Declan Rice.
Eugenie captioned the post: "Whilst it wasn’t the score we all wished for, I wanted to send a thank you to @england.
"You united the whole country by making it to the final and you’ve done us all so proud.
"My heart hurts for all the players and staff @england but you're all legends to us and you have a mighty roar!!"
England lost to Spain 2-1 in the Euro 2024 final, with fans gutted Gareth Southgate's squad failed to bring the trophy home.

The Prince of Wales posted on social media following the game: "This time it just wasn’t meant to be. We’re all still so proud of you. Onwards @England. W."

They wrote: "England, your teamwork, grit and determination were an inspiration to all of us, young and old. Congratulations to Spain. W & C."
