Princess Diana’s "favourite" London restaurant is set to reopen after it closed its doors following the Covid lockdowns in 2020.
Le Caprice, an iconic London restaurant, is a familiar favourite for members of the Royal Family as Diana, Princess Margaret and Princess Alexandra all dined there.
Richard Caring, a British businessman, will relaunch the iconic London restaurant at The Chancery Rosewood on Grosvenor Square.
Other Hollywood stars frequently visited the restaurant before it closed including Sr Elton John, Tom Cruise, Mick Jagger and Elizabeth Taylor.

The restaurant was originally opened by Mario Gallati on Arlington Street in 1947 and was later take over by Jeremy King and Chris Corbin.
In 2020, a spokesperson for Le Caprice announced its closure stating: “Le Caprice has occupied the current site for 38 years and now the lease is coming to an end.
“The iconic restaurant within the London dining scene will be reborn at a new location currently under negotiation.”
“We thank our clientele for their loyalty and support over the years and assure them that they will be as excited as us with the new plans for this historic brand.”

Now this new location has been confirmed at the £1billion hotel, retail, restaurant and leisure destination at Grosvenor Square.
Grosvenor Square is surrounded by 5-star-hotels including The Biltmore Mayfair, Claridge’s and is a short walk from The Ritz.
The hotel owner, Qatari Diar, is also considering opening a high-profile New York restaurant Carbone, when the hotel opens next year.
Richard Caring is the chairman of Caprice Holdings, which owns and operates The Ivy chain of restaurants.

It was recently reported that Caring is considering selling a major stake in his Ivy Collection of restaurants.
According to Sky News the businessman has approached bankers in a deal that could value the business at around £1billion.
Caring also has a number of other hospitality businesses including the restaurant’s Scott’s, Sexy Fish and J Sheekey and Berkeley Square club Annabel’s.
In 2005, Caring took control of The Ivy restaurant in Covent Garden and has since opened dozens of restaurants all across the UK.
