Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall have been supporting Prince William as the Royal Family grapples with a shortage of working royals, former butler for Royal Family has claimed.

King Charles and the Princess of Wales were both diagnosed with cancer in the early months of 2024 and stepped back from working duties.

The King returned to undertaking public duties in late April but the Princess of Wales has only made two public appearances this summer.

Prince William has carried out many solo engagements this year but has also been supported by his cousins.

Most notably, Princess Beatrice, Zara Tindall and Princess Eugenie joined the Prince of Wales at a Buckingham Palace garden party in May.

Former royal butler Grant Harold claimed that William's cousins are rallying around him in a bid to help with his workload.

Harold said: "William will probably be very overwhelmed at the moment, there are a lot of duties as a royal, but William did conduct many solo engagements before his marriage, and has continued to during his marriage too.

"This will be feeling like a lot to undertake and he’s doing a very good job of it. He will be supported by other members of the family.

"Even though his brother is no longer in the picture, he will have the support of his cousins, such as Zara and Beatrice, and the wider family.

"He does still have a very good support system around him.

"With the royals, they will come to support each other when it is needed."

It comes as a royal commentator has claimed Prince William was left devastated by Princess Kate's cancer diagnosis.
