Princess Beatrice is ‘under a microscope’ amid calls for her to be given a more prominent role in the Royal Family, according to a US journalist.
Lee Cohen joined Nana Akua on GBN America to discuss the dilemmas posed by the slimmed-down monarchy and whether boosting Beatrice’s standing could provide a much needed remedy.
But according to Cohen, while King Charles is ‘impressed’ with her conduct, there are questions about her close ties to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Speaking about the Royal Family’s efforts through a difficult period compounded by King Charles and Princess Kate’s cancer diagnoses, Cohen said “we have to give credit where it’s due”.

“There is talk of Princess Beatrice being more prominent. She has never been a working royal.
“She maintains a professional career outside royal service, though she was promoted last year to counsellor of state.
“The Princess has continued to have close ties to the Sussexes during this rift, which puts her under the microscope in the eyes of some.”
The Princess featured in the new Netflix drama Scoop, thrusting her into the spotlight.
The 35-year-old royal made a brief appearance in the new movie starring Gillian Anderson plunging her father’s disastrous Newsnight interview back into the limelight.
It follows Sam McAlister, played by Billie Piper, a producer, as she manages to land the BBC an exclusive interview with the royal discussing his relationship with the convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.
But questions surrounding Beatrice at the moment relate to her involvement with the royal establishment as health fears leave the slimmed-down monarchy increasingly stretched.
She has never been asked to become a senior working royal, and neither has her sister Princess Eugenie.
Beatrice lives in a four-bedroom apartment in St James’s Palace alongside her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and daughter Sienna.
St James’s Palace is the most senior royal palace in London.
