The royal sisters executed impressively low curtsies whilst smiling and waving to their uncle, the King.
It is common practice for all members of the Royal Family, including those with HRH titles, to bow or curtsy to the monarch when greeting them for the first time that day.
For royal ladies, this typically involves bobbing down into a low curtsy and bowing their heads, while men perform a neck bow.

Both princesses were accompanied by their husbands at the annual event. Eugenie was joined by Jack Brooksbank, with whom she shares two sons - August, four, and Ernest, who turns two next month.
Beatrice attended with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The couple recently welcomed their second daughter, Athena, prematurely in January.
