Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were shown bursting into tears as they watched Prince Andrew's interview in a new royal drama.
A Very Royal Scandal, starring Michael Sheen as the Duke of York, showed how his daughters reacted to his career-ending Newsnight interview in 2019.
The show, which was executively produced by Emily Maitlis, cast Honor Swinton Byrne as Princess Beatrice and Sofia Oxenham as Eugenie.
The sisters could be seen sitting beside each other on a sofa and crying as the interview was broadcast.
The show was largely based on real events, however, some scenes were sensationalised for dramatic effect.
The Princesses of York have never spoken publicly about the interview or given their opinions.
However, a friend of Beatrice and Eugenie told The Daily Beast: “Put yourself in their shoes.
"This film is going to traduce their father and if they say anything to defend him it will just make it worse.”

A friend of Princess Beatrice's added: “There is nothing good you can say about it all.
"It’s ghastly for all of them.
"The girls are just getting on with their lives.”
During A Very Royal Scandal, the camera focused on Beatrice's face as the interview was being aired.
LATEST ROYAL NEWS:
Swinton Byrne dramatically closed her eyes as she was crying, perhaps showing the guilt that Beatrice felt after the interview was broadcast.
It is on record that Princess Beatrice accompanied Prince Andrew to meet with the Newsnight team prior to the interview, and even encouraged him to go through with it.
Following the interview, Prince Andrew stepped back from public life and all his royal duties.
In 2022, the late Queen Elizabeth II stripped the duke of his honorary military medals and titles.
