The York Princesses have spoken fondly about the Scottish castle

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie's presence at Balmoral is "dependent on Prince Andrew's invite", a royal source has claimed.

The Duke of York, who stepped down as a working royal in 2019, is largely tipped to be on King Charles's invite list for Balmoral Castle this summer.

A royal source claimed: “I’m sure William and Catherine will want to go up with some friends for the Glorious Twelfth, and I suspect Andrew would like to go for a few days shooting as well."

They added: "Charles has seemed happy to allow Andrew his family days at the royal shoots and I am sure that will continue.”

Since King Charles became the monarch in 2022, his younger brother Prince Andrew, 64, has appeared much more frequently at public royal events.

In 2019, he was forced to step down as a working royal following his disastrous Newsnight interview, where he discussed his ill-fated friendship with the late convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

As a result, Queen Elizabeth II stripped him of his honorary military medals in 2022, and did not allow him to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony during her Platinum Jubilee.

However, King Charles has taken a more relaxed approach, inviting both Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson to Sandringham for Christmas and Windsor Castle for Easter.

The royal insider claimed that Fergie, 64, has been deliberately invited to several family events by Charles since the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The source continued to tell The Daily Beast that Princess Beatrice, 35, and Princess Eugenie, 34, will likely only be invited to Balmoral Castle if their father is present.

The York Princesses are not working members of the Royal Family and have also dealt with the public fallout surrounding their father, Prince Andrew.

Despite this, Beatrice and Eugenie have seemingly grown in popularity among the Royal Family.

Princess Beatrice, in particular, has had a much stronger public role, having filled in for Prince William at an Earthshot Prize event last month.

The two sisters accompanied their cousin to a Buckingham Palace garden party.

This was viewed by many as a public show of support for William while his wife, Princess Kate, undergoes chemotherapy.

They were also photographed enjoying the company of Prince William at Royal Ascot, alongside other cousins Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips.
